About
Personal
Howdy! My name is Sanjana (pronounced: Saan-juh-na) and I am from Mumbai, India. I was born in a small town of Goa and raised in Mumbai. At Texas A&M, I have found a vibrant community that resonates with the supportive atmosphere I value, reminiscent of home. I love cooking Indian food, reading philosophical literature, painting and being outdoors. Beyond research, I am passionate about bringing people together, and fostering a sense of community.
Professional
I am a power system researcher with a background in electrical engineering. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering with research focus in power system. My research interests include power system modeling, generation integration, and grid resilience. I am passionate about developing innovative solutions to address the challenges faced by the power industry in the 21st century. Prior to embarking on my doctoral journey, I completed my undergraduate studies in India and gained industry experience with Siemens for 2.5 years.
Research
My research work is in power system modeling, simulation and analysis. I have worked with large-scale power grid models with upto 82,000 buses spanning entire United States. I have experience in using software tools such as Powerworld, PSS/E, Matlab, ETAP and PSCAD for power system analysis. Currently, in my research I study sparse matrix statistics and topological properties of power grids as graph networks.
